BRUNSWICK
A Bath man was arrested after causing a disturbance at Parkview Adventist Medical Center in Brunswick, where he was being treated early Saturday morning.
Paul C. Dow, 43, was charged with disorderly conduct and for assault on an emergency care provider.
Brunswick Police responded to a report of “an extremely intoxicated” individual lying in the grass alongside Hawthorne Street at about 12:30 a.m., according to Capt. Mark Waltz.
Dow later told police that he had been drinking at Benchwarmers on Maine Street, said Waltz. He was transported by rescue personnel to Parkview.
A short while later, at about 1:11 a.m., Brunswick Police responded to Parkview for a report of an out-of-control patient in the emergency room, said Waltz.
Waltz said Dow had ripped out his IV tube before pushing, spitting on and getting blood on one of the emergency room workers.
Waltz was taken to Cumberland County Jail, and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 19. There was no information on bail as of Monday.
The emergency room worker was not injured and did not require treatment.
