PORTLAND — An E2Tech forum titled “The Solid Waste Hierarchy: Waste-to- Energy & the Brighter Side of Landfills,” will be presented on Thursday, June 26, from 7:15 to 9:30 a.m., at Wishcamper Center, USM Portland campus, 34 Bedford St., Portland.
The Environmental & Natural Resources Committee has been grappling with the waste hierarchy to address electricity cost issues that could impact the financial viability of Maine’s wasteto energy and landfill facilities. A panel will examine business scenarios under Maine’s waste hierarchy and how they fit within the policy and permitting framework.
The speakers include:
