WELLS — The Freeport High School girls lacrosse team beat Wells 17-13 under foggy conditions on Friday.
Jess Hench had five goals and two assists, while Alex Mitch chipped in with three goals and an assist, Emily Johnson two goals and an assist, Meredith Broderick two goals, Bethanie Knighton two goals, and Jocelyn Davee, Julia Dearden and Mia Thomas a goal each.
Scoring for Wells were Kelly Beisswanger (four goals), Niki Moody (four), Heather LaPierre (two), Jasmine Leukola (two) and Amanda DeShaies. Freeport goalie Molly Lane had 10 saves. Freeport improved to 6- 5 and closes out the regular season today at home with Greely.

Alexander Paulus scored five goals, and goaltender Alex Small turned aside 19 shots as the Shipbuilders concluded their regular season with an Eastern Maine Class B victory at Camden Hills (4- 8) on Friday.
Paulus added an assist and picked up a nine groundballs. Oliver Kruze chipped in two goals, and Zach Hershey and Dylan Crowell scored one goal each.
Hershey dished out three assists, while Crowell and Matt Buczkowski had one helper each. Defensively, Schuyler Mace grabbed a team-high 11 groundballs, with Max Rawson picking up eight. Alec Beveridge, Aaron Nadeau, Ethan Mattice, Kevin Tolan, Jay Saunders, Kyle Perry and PC Ostergaard played well.
“We jumped out to a threegoal lead, but Camden Hills is really well-coached and didn’t waste too much time answering those goals,” said Morse coach Jay Paulus, whose team finished 6-6 and will face Gardiner in the Eastern Class B quarterfinals on June 6, according to the coach.
Nick Linscott led Camden Hills with four goals.

Kyle Robinson scored five goals as the Wildcats shook off a tough defensive effort from the Falcons to improve to 7-4.
“It was the best game we have played this season, with defense doing a good job and shutting them out in the third quarter,” said Freeport coach Geoff Arris, whose squad is 2- 9 and hosts Waynflete on Wednesday.
Isaak Dearden led the Falcons with three goals and an assist. Clayton Morrison chipped in one goal and one assist, while Dylan Arris picked up a goal and Sam Wogan an assist.
Freeport goaltender Alex Sturtevant had 20 saves.

Brunswick closed out the regular season Friday with a win at Brunswick. The Dragons improved to 12-0 with an impressive 171 goals scored.
Brunswick sits atop the Eastern Class A Heal Point Standings with a healthy 52- point lead over second-place Mt. Ararat (9-2), which is set to close out its regular season today at home versus Oxford Hills.
Against the 3-8 Rams, Elliot Boyd scored four goals, while Winston Sullivan chipped in with three goals and two assists, and Bailey Caparratto three goals.
