DOWNEAST ENERGY recently held its 23rd annual Downeast Energy Golf Classic at the Brunswick Golf Club. The event has raised nearly $300,000 since its inception, with all proceeds benefiting local charities. This year’s benefactor was Tedford Housing, based in Brunswick. The 2016 edition fielded 28 teams and raised $10,000 to support Tedford’s mission to find lasting solutions to the challenges of homelessness. “Tedford Housing is extremely grateful to Downeast Energy, its employees, event sponsors and participants who all contributed to the success of the event,” said Craig Phillips, executive director of Tedford Housing. “Downeast Energy continues in its belief that giving back to the community is an important part of the company’s success,” said Rob Wilkes, general manager of the Downeast Energy Brunswick office. “Downeast Energy would like to thank AJ Kavanaugh, director of golf, the staff and McAvoy’s On The Green restaurant for all of their invaluable assistance.” Shown in the photo with Phillips, third from left, are Downeast Energy employees Scott Cushing, Felicia Beardsley and Wilkes.
