To the editor:
Like many busy people, I chose to drop by Bath City Hall the other day and vote because I will be tied up on primary day, June 12. Now I learn that the final public hearing on the important Regional School Unit 1 budget was set for Tuesday, June 5, and local citizens cannot vote on that measure until after the hearing.
So, if you have already voted in the primary, as I have, you must return to City Hall after June 5 for another absentee ballot in order to vote on the RSU 1 budget. This is a very important issue, and affects the tax bills of every property owner in the five towns comprising the RSU. Don’t pass up on the extra ballot!

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
