ROCKLAND (AP) — The chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts is visiting Maine to see how the creative economy is helping local communities.
Rocco Landesman is stopping in Rockland and Portland during his visit.
U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree will be joining Landesman when he takes a walking tour of Rockland and meets with artists and community leaders today.
They’ll come to Portland tonight and meet with more artists and community leaders at the Portland Stage Company. On Thursday, they’ll take a walk through Portland’s arts district before viewing a play written by Portland police officers and hear poetry written by city employees.
