BRUNSWICK

The Brunswick Public Works Department has issued a traffic advisory for Sunday and Monday when night paving work is scheduled.

Crooker Construction will start paving work for Maine Department of Transportation Sunday and Monday night. Work hours for the paving will be from approximately 6 p.m. until no later than 6 a.m. the following morning.

Sunday crews will be paving Main Street in Topsham from the Frank J. Wood Bridge for 4,600 feet to the Topsham Fire Station between 6 p.m. Sunday and 6 a.m. Monday.

Although the primary work site is in Topsham, traffic on Maine Street in Brunswick may be impacted due to the alternating lane closures.

On Monday, crews will be paving 600 feet of Maine Street in Brunswick from the Frank J. Wood Bridge to the Mill Street south bound on-ramp (up to the Route 1 concrete bridge deck overpass).

After completing the Maine Street section the contractor will start paving Bath Road between Merrymeeting Plaza and the Bowdoin Pines ( Cameron Restaurant). Additional paving may be scheduled at a later date to complete this project.

On the following nights the contractor will be milling joints and adjusting utilities in the areas of the shim paving on Main Street in Topsham and Maine Street in Brunswick so that final paving can be installed at a date to be scheduled.

The above dates are subject to change if weather conditions are not favorable for the work to take place.

If anyone has any questions about the work, they can contact the MDOT Resident Engineer in charge of the project, John McDonough, via his cell at 446- 0125 or by email at John.McDonough@maine.gov.
