PHIPPSBURG — Children will have an opportunity to try fishing from kayaks on Saturday at Center Pond.
The event, sponsored by the Phippsburg Sportsmen’s Association and Seaspray Kayaking, allows children to try their luck pulling in the big one.
All equipment, including fishing gear, kayaks and life jackets, will be provided. Experienced fishing guides and kayakers will help kids rig up and get out where the big ones lurk.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to noon at Hatch Point on Rt. 209. There is plenty of parking in the Town Hall parking lot.
The event is free, and lunch will be provided by members of the Phippsburg Land Trust.
