PROSPECT — The Friends of Fort Knox will host musical performances on Saturday and July 14 at the historic site.
Yellow Brick Road, an Elton John tribute band, will perform from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday on the fort’s parade grounds. The Friends of Fort Knox invite those who attend to bring a lawn chair, blanket and picnic.
“Dancing is allowed and encouraged,” a release from the group states. “Costuming optional, but would be a fun activity.”
From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. July 14, the fort will host its annual Scottish Tattoo, also on the parade grounds. Massed marching bagpipe bands from throughout Maine will perform.
Tickets to both events, available at the fort’s visitor center or by calling 469-6553, cost $10 for adults or $5 for children age 12 and younger.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
