FRYEBURG — Corson Swan launched a three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to lift the Ararat 12U baseball team to a thrilling 9-6 victory over Gardiner in an elimination contest on Monday.
The victory sends Ararat to tonight’s title game against undefeated Andy Valley. The first pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m., with the “if” game slated for a 7:30 p.m. start. Ararat must defeat Andy Valley twice to advance to the New England Regional.
The winning rally began with a single by Brendan Emmons and a walk to Matt Rines. With both runners in scoring position, Swan lifted a long drive to win it.
