BATH — The Bath Area BackPack Program, a nonprofit that provides meals for food-insecure children, has been selected as a beneficiary of the Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag Program at its Brunswick location.

The Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag Program launched in October 2015 and is designed to support local hunger relief organizations through the sale of the reusable Fight Hunger bag. For every reusable Fight Hunger bag with the message purchased at the Brunswick Hannaford in September, the Bath Area BackPack Program will receive a $1 donation.

Founded in 2014, the Bath Area BackPack Program has grown from feeding 10 children in one elementary school to serving more than 110 students in four Bath area elementary schools as well as stocking a food pantry at the Bath Middle School. Visit bathareabackpack.org for more information.
