
Freeport High School will be visited by a Mongolian performance troop on Friday.
The group of 22 students and teachers are from a school in Inner Mongolia. Students from this school performed at the 2008 Beijing Olympics as well as at the Shanghai World’s Fair. The multi-faceted performance consists of dance, horse-hair fiddle music and throat singing. The group demonstrates many elements of traditional Mongolian art and culture, all in traditional dress.
The group will be running workshops and performing at Freeport High School school during the day on Friday. They will also perform for the community at the Freeport Performing
Arts Center at 7:30 p. m., Friday. All performances are Free.
