Living with Uncertainty

Our lives can change for the better or the worse in just the twinkling of an eye. Life is filled with uncertainty. We may think that we have established comfortable and predictable lives for ourselves, but we can rest assured that it is an illusion. Nothing stays the same forever. What’s coming tomorrow may not be easy, but then again it may be something that fulfills us in ways that we could never imagine. Either way it may cause a certain measure of anxiety, perhaps fear of failure, of change, fear of pain and suffering or loss which may make us feel vulnerable or lost. But it somehow helps to be able to focus on the little things we can do to make life easier instead of obsessing about the big things we can’t do anything about. Viewing life in the light of eternity can fill us with strength and courage. Recognizing that God’s presence in the midst of change and uncertainty can help can help us overcome our fears. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in us so we can be confident that we are not alone, and we are truly blessed.
