BRUNSWICK — Rose Merriman Minott, 75 of Highland Road, died peacefully, Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2015, at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Portland, June 29, 1939, the daughter of Walter Standwood Minott and Hazel Orr Minott. She graduated from Brunswick High School, Class of 1958, and continued her educational studies toward her ambition to be a history teacher.

Rose was employed as a dental assistant and later at Arrowhart, Eastland Shoe, Freeport Shoe and worked at L.L. Bean for 40 years. Following the death of her father, she managed the family farm with the help of her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She enjoyed having her family work with her on the farm, while teaching them how to cook, hay and all of the skills needed to continue her families heritage.

She was a longtime member of the Growstown Cemetery Association, the Grange, loved NASCAR Racing, pro wrestling, church suppers and spending time with her family.

She was predeceased by a nephew, David Minott.

Rose is survived by her brother, James A. Minott of Brunswick; a niece, Sandra Laffley; and two nephews, Kenneth Walter Minott of Georgetown and James A. Minott Jr. of Brunswick; several great nieces, nephews and cousins. Also to be remembered is Carolyn Woerter, her caretaker and friend during her illness.

At Rose’s request, a funeral service will be held in the spring.

Interment will be in Growstown Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick.
