Windbourne has been announced as part of the “Kill the Chill” concert series at the Chocolate Church.
The four Windbourne singers — Lynn Mahoney Rowan, Will Thomas Rowan, Lauren Breunig and Jeremy Carter-Gordon — will bring their polyphonic music to the Annex at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24.
Polyphonic music produces many sounds simultaneously. It is a many-voiced art form that involves vocal music in two or more parts, each having a melody of its own.
Windborne have studied polyphonic vocal music for more than 15 years from traditional singing masters from cultures around the world. Windborne is able to shift through radically different genres, ranging, for example, from an improvised Corsican couplet song to an English ballad.
Tickets are $15 advance, and $17 at the door. Seating is limited. Tickets are available by calling the Chocolate Church box office at (207) 442-8455 or chocolatechurcharts.org.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
