SKOWHEGAN (AP) — Police say a Skowhegan man is facing drug charges after a raid on his apartment yielded more than 400 bags of heroin.
Darreyl Wright entered no plea to the charges against him in an initial appearance Wednesday in Somerset County District Court. He is being held in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
Police executed a search warrant Tuesday based on information alleging he was selling heroin.
Investigators say the 36- year-old Wright bought heroin in Portland and sold it for $10 a bag. He told police he uses the money from the sales to fund his own heroin addiction.
In addition to 440 bags of heroin, police found syringes loaded with heroin around the apartment in which two children live.
It’s not clear if Wright has a lawyer.
