AUGUSTA (AP) — The Maine state government has invalidated a bid by Maine Natural Gas Corp. to supply gas to state properties in the Augusta area.
The Department of Administrative and Financial Services said Wednesday that several flaws had been found by a panel that had taken up an appeal of the contract award. The department found problems in both the drafting and review process of the request for proposals.
Summit Natural Gas of Maine had challenged the contract award to Maine Natural Gas, saying the bidding process was ambiguous and should be re-opened. Summit is a subsidiary of Summit Utilities Inc. of Littleton, Colo. Maine Natural Gas is based in Brunswick.
