BRUNSWICK
Brunswick police charged an East Boothbay man with criminal mischief after concluding an investigation into vandalism at Wal-Mart on Tibbetts Drive reported Dec. 20.
Police said Peter Brown, 57, of 844 Ocean Point Road, East Boothbay, was issued a summons Saturday afternoon charging criminal mischief. Police said he was going to park in a parking space on Dec. 20 at Wal-Mart as a vehicle was leaving, but another car pulled into the spot.
Brown parked elsewhere but allegedly returned and “keyed” the car, causing an estimated $200 in damage, police said.
Brunswick police Sgt. Russ Wrede said the victim, who allegedly antagonized Brown after taking the spot, remembered his license plate number, and police were able to identify him based on video surveillance.
