Police are looking for someone who cut and stole copper piping, wiring and other items from a home being renovated at 1110 High St.
Damage to the home form the thefts caused the basement to flood, police said.
Bath police Lt. Stanley Cielinski said this morning that a contractor working at the home reported the burglary to police at 9:02 a.m. Sunday. The homeowners were not there when the burglary occurred, he said.
Cielinski said someone stole the piping, wiring, brass fittings, the water meter and tools belonging to the contractor. The cutting of the piping caused the basement flooding, he said.
In another alleged burglary, police last Friday charged two 15-year-old boys — one with trespassing and the other with burglary — at the old bus station on 8 State Road. Bus drivers still use the facility as a rest stop, Cielinski said.
The boys broke into the building, made coffee and doodled on pieces of paper, Cielinski said. They also broke the sink off the wall.
Unfortunately for them, he said, they left their names on the paper.
