To the Editor:
Bath taxpayers should be very pleased and proud of the transformation that has taken place at the old National Guard Armory, near Bath Middle School, during the past year.
Steven Balboni, Bath’s director of parks and recreation, with a dedicated crew of employees, valued contractors, businesses, students and very generous citizens, have given Bath a first-class youth center and skate park that the young people must be thrilled to have.
I was fortunate to be able to tour the facility this summer, and was amazed at what had been accomplished. I hope citizens of Bath and our neighboring communities come to see this outstanding facility for themselves.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
