BRUNSWICK — Bowdoin College sophomore Jack Simonds has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Simonds was outstanding in a pair of Polar Bear wins last week. After scoring 12 points in a mid-week, non-conference win over Maine- Presque Isle, Simonds racked up 32 points, including 22 in the second half, in 33 minutes in a win over Williams.
For the week, Simonds connected on 48-percent of his shots from the field, including 53-percent from 3- point range, while averaging 6.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists.
Simonds leads the NESCAC at 21.9 points per game this season, is second in 3-pointers (38), free throws (58) and free-throw percentage (86.6 percent).
Bowdoin (9-6) returns to action this weekend with a pair of big road games at Amherst (Friday, 7 p.m.) and Trinity (Saturday, 3 p.m.).
