Brunswick police released the name Thursday of a Mt. Desert woman seriously injured in a crash along Route 1 Wednesday night.
Police said 56-year-old Patti Reilly of Mt. Desert Island was the driver and sole occupant of a car that left the roadway and struck a tree.
She was pulled from the 2006 Volvo sedan by Brunswick Fire Department rescuers and transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where she was listed in critical condition this morning. Deputy Chief Marc Hagan of the Brunswick Police Department said Reilly sustained head and lower body injuries.
It was raining at the time of the crash, reported at 8:26 p.m. on Route 1 South a mile before Cook’s Corner.
Hagan said a police reconstruction unit continues to investigate the crash; early indications are that the car hydroplaned.
