MIDDLEBURY, Vt. — Bowdoin College junior Kaitlynn Miller battled through illness to compete at the NCAA Skiing Championships this past weekend in Vermont.

Miller, who earned Second Team All-New England honors following the Eastern Championships two weeks ago, became the first Polar Bear to compete at nationals since 1997.

Miller raced in Thursday’s 5K classic race and placed 40th in a time of 17:57.1. She placed 39th in Saturday’s grueling 15K freestyle mass start in a time of 47:21.8.
