BRUNSWICK
A man who allegedly broke into C&R Trading Post on Old Portland Road last May then failed to appear in court to face burglary and criminal mischief charges was arrested Wednesday on a warrant near Waco, Texas.
Charles P. Bishop, 22, of Lawton, Okla., was charged with burglary and criminal mischief but failed to appear in court, Detective Sgt. Martin Rinaldi of the Brunswick Police Department said Thursday.
A warrant was issued for his arrest, and because C&R is a federal firearms licensed dealer, the Maine Violent Offender Task Force was notified.
Bishop was arrested on warrants for failure to appear and taken into custody by U.S. marshals. He will be extradited, Rinaldi said.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
