TOPSHAM
The Topsham Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with Santa and Mrs. Claus and their elves to provide Topsham kindergartners and first-graders the opportunity to talk on the phone with the North Pole’s most famous couple.
Every year through the program, Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elves call kindergartners and firstgraders to “check in and be sure your child is being good, and getting ready for the big day.”
There is no fee for the call. The deadline to register is Monday, Dec. 17. Forms to register for this event are available online at www.topshammaine.com/santa.
Calls will be made on Wednesday, Dec. 19, for kindergartners and Thursday, Dec. 20, for first-graders.
Children are also invited to join “Santa and the Mrs.” at the Topsham Public Library on Wednesday, Dec. 12, for a jolly reading of holiday picture books.
After tea and cookies, children can sit on Santa’s lap which is a good photo opportunity so parents may want to bring their cameras.
The event starts at 10:30 a.m., is open to all ages and no registration is required. The library is located at 25 Foreside Road.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
