RICHMOND — The Richmond High School baseball team scored 12 runs in its final three at-bats in an East-West Conference 12-2 Mercy Rule win over Rangeley in six innings. 

Scoreless through three, the Bobcats (5-1) scored five times in the fourth, four runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth. Richmond pounded out 14 hits. Nate Kendrick had three singles and three RBIs, Zach Small three singles and two RBIs, and Mike Stewart and Cam Emmons added a single and double each. 

On the mound, Emmons was solid, allowing just one hit and three walks while striking out eight. 

Bo Beaulieu singled for Rangeley (0-4), while Ricky Thompson went the distance on the mound with two strikeouts and one walk. 

Richmond entertains Greenville in doubleheader action on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Freeport    12

Jack Davenport allowed one earned run in five innings as the Falcons ended a four-game Western Maine Conference losing streak with a Mercy Rule win over the Knights at Freeport. 

Davenport permitted seven hits and struck out three. 

Freeport received a lift from Colby Wagner, who belted a home run and drove in a pair. Peter LaMagna drove in three runs with a double, while Max Doughty chipped in two singles. Ben Humphrey and Caleb Rice also doubled, with Rice picking three key RBIs. 

Alex Biron and Jake Wiseman picked up two hits each for Poland. 

Freeport is 2-4 and hosts Fryeburg Academy on Monday at 4 p.m. 

Softball

Richmond scored four runs in the both the fifth and sixth innings to put away Rangeley, 10-1, in E-WC action. 

Meranda Martin picked up the mound win, allowing just four hits, walking two and striking out 10. Martin also singled, tripled and drove in two runs at the plate for the 5-0 Bobcats, who host Greenville in a doubleheader on Saturday at 11 a.m. 

Also for Richmond, Kelsea Anair singled twice, Sydney Tilton had a single and a triple, Cassidy Harriman two three-baggers and Kalah Patterson two singles and a triple. 

Taylor Esty pitched for Rangeley (1-3). She allowed 13 hits and struck out five. Esty had three of the Lakers’ four hits, all singles, and drove in a run.

The Greyhounds scored 16 runs in the second inning en route to a Mountain Valley Conference win over the Saints at Lisbon Falls. 

Arianna Kahler led the Lisbon hit parade with a 4-for-4 performance with three RBIs. Kailyn Hill drove in a game-high six runs with her 3-for-4 showing. She came within a single of hitting for the cycle and belted a grand-slam home run. Amanda Hazelton was also 3-for-4 with two singles, a double and an RBI.

Lisbon’s Alyssa Hall and Ashley Patten combined on the mound. 

Kristen Cornell had two hits and two RBIs for St. Dom’s. 

The Greyhounds (4-2) visit Madison today at 4:30 p.m.
