Topsham workshop today addresses signs

TOPSHAM — The Topsham Planning Board is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. today to hold a workshop on the sign ordinance.

The workshop will be held at the municipal building located at 100 Main St.

People Plus hosts free email primer

BRUNSWICK — Jack Hudson will lead a free workshop about email from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the People Plus Center, 35 Union St.

Hudson will demonstrate how to email “on the cloud” and show participants how to connect with people on any computer and send emails from any public access computer, like the ones at Curtis Memorial Library.

Participants will learn how to create, edit, send, and forward emails. It is not necessary to have a home computer to take this course.

Orth to explain ‘listen to read’ gadgets

BRUNSWICK — Melissa Orth, the young adult librarian at Curtis Memorial Library, will lead a free instructional program about MP3 players, iPods, audiobooks and other ways to “read” by listening from noon to 1:45 p.m. Thursday in the teen center at People Plus, 35 Union St.

“ Learn how you can use pocket sized devices with earphones (so you can adjust the volume) to listen to music and audio books anywhere you go,” a People Plus release states. “You can even borrow audio books for your MP3 player or iPod from the library for free.”
