YARMOUTH — Erin Gay turned aside all 22 shots she faced as the Brunswick High School girls hockey team defeated Yarmouth 3-0 at the Falmouth Family Ice Center on Saturday.
Caroline Wild’s unassisted goal early in the first period staked the Dragons to a 1-0 lead. She tallied her second goal midway through the middle frame and assisted on Suzannah Smith’s marker in the third period to complete the scoring.
Yarmouth goaltender Hannah Williams had 24 saves as the Yachtsmen fell to 0-2.
Playing well for the Dragons were Smith and Wild on defense, while Eliza Brooks, Annie Kelly and Gillian Ford provided good back-checking. Grace Rabinowitz, Mary Sasso, Alexa Rivers and Ashley Hartford were also solid.
Brunswick is slated to return to action on Thursday at Sidney J. Watson Arena against Scarborough at 7:30 p.m.
