WOOLWICH — Edward Harvey Gray passed away peacefully December 5, 2011.
Edward was born June 14, 1935 in Blue Hill, son of Albert B. Gray and Ruth Margret Gray. He attended Phippsburg schools, Parker Head and Morse High School in which he graduated in 1951. He married Beverly Jean Baldwin December 31, 1954, they then had 3 daughters: Cindy, Vicki and Sharon- Holly. Edward was always a working man who began his own business when he was 16 years old buying and selling clams and also logging. At the age of 25 he started his own construction businesses which lead him to becoming Road Commissioner of Woolwich. After he then proceeded to plow roads in Phippsburg for many years up to his passing. He and his wife Beverly loved traveling together all across the country including their favorite trips together Hawaii and Las Vegas. Phippsburg was his second home in which he had his camper and was known for his loud red dump truck.
Edward is preceded in death by three brothers, Francis, Albert and Robert Gray.
Edward is survived by his wife Beverly Gray of Woolwich, three daughters, Cindy O’Conner of Bath, Vicki Harrington and her husband Frank of Fittsburg Mass., and Sharon-Holly Thibodeau and her husband Allen of Woolwich; five sisters, Joyce Emeron and husband Roland of Redding Mass., Anne Carter of Gorham, New Hampshire, Ruth Lewis and husband Harry of Phippsburg, Jane Gower and Gibb of Dresden and sister in law Gloria of Woolwich; two brothers David Gray and wife Deb of Phippsburg and brother in law James Baldwin and wife Diane of Wiscasset. Fourteen grandchildren Christa Gallagher and fiancé Reginald Johnson of Bangor, Missy Leeman and fiancé Cong VanNguyen of Casco, Amy Amendola and husband Gustin of Niagara Falls, New York, Amber Duarte and husband Aneury, Anna, Josh, Nick, Ashley Freeman and husband Bryce, Frank, Abigail, and Michael all of Fittsburg Mass., Megan and Kate Thibodeau of Woolwich; nine great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, December 8, 2011 6- 8pm at Desmond’s Funeral Home in Bath. Funeral will be held Friday, December 9, 2011, at 11am also at Desmond’s Funeral Home; the burial will follow at Morningside Cemetery in Phippsburg.
