BATH — John L. Lacasse died Tuesday December 6, 2011 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. John was born on October 5, 1927 in New Bedford, MA and lived most of his life on Cape Cod until moving to Bath in 2007. He attended Vermont Academy. He was stationed in Germany for eight years at the end of WWII. John was a Massachusetts State Trooper for twenty two years retiring as a Staff Sargent in 1977.

John’s was an avid reader and loved solving the cryptogram each morning in the Boston Herald. He was a duplicate bridge player and joined the Bath Senior Center and played contract bridge there as well as cribbage. He was a true conservative enjoying his daily dose of Neil Cavuto and Bill O’Reilly. John loved living in Maine and often said he should have moved here sooner.

He is survived by his wife of thirty four years, Kathleen Lacasse and their close friend Diane Nicol. Brothers in law James Peros and his wife Peggy of Ft Myers, FL and Shane Peros and his wife Barbara of Yarmouth Port, MA as well as many neices and nephews.
