FREEPORT — The Bicycle Coalition of Maine’s 14th annual Women’s Ride will take place on Sunday.
The ride begins and ends at the L.L. Bean Casco Conference Center. The ride is a celebration of women and bicycling, and offers a friendly, supportive atmosphere geared toward girls and women of all ages and abilities.
The ride follows quiet roads, offering beautiful views of the Maine coast and countryside.
Over 600 women will participate in the ride and the four routes, which vary in distance (10, 25, 50 and 62 miles) and will pass through Brunswick, Pownal, Durham, Yarmouth, North Yarmouth and New Gloucester.
After the ride, participants will celebrate with free food, music, art, yoga and door prizes.
The first ride leaves at 7:30 a.m. The bulk of the riders will leave between 8:30-9:30 a.m. The post-ride activities will start by 11:30 a.m., and continue through the early afternoon.
Early registration and packet pickup is also available on Friday evening at Gorham Bike and Ski in Portland from 4-6 p.m., and Saturday evening at the L.L. Bean Casco Conference Center from 4-6 p.m.
