In addition to banning the sale and use of fireworks in town in a 6- 3 vote — with councilors John Perreault, Gerald Favreau and Dave Watson opposed to the ban — the town council on Monday voted unanimously to:
— Approve a liquor license for Xue Hua Zhang and Xu Hang Zhang, doing business as China Rose, 42 Bath Road.
— Set a public hearing for Jan. 17 to consider a zoning ordinance amendment that would allow municipal facilities to exceed applicable zoning regulations for maximum impervious cover and maximum building footprint standards by not more than 40 percent.
— Set a public hearing for Jan. 17 to amend sections of the traffic and vehicles code that would restrict parking near the harriet Beecher Stowe School, create a no parking zone on Noble Street near the Inn at Brunswick Station, allow moped parking in yellow striped no parking zones on Maine Street, provide all day parking on Elm Street, and remove bus stops on Station Avenue and on Maine Street near Potter Street.
— Add Michael Wilson to the town’s Police Station Building Committee as a citizen representative with an interest in sustainability.
— Made appointments to various town committees.
The council also:
— Reviewed a Dec. 15 draft proposal for the town’s Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) process.
