BRUNSWICK — The body of a man likely in his mid-40s was discovered Thursday afternoon along the railroad tracks between Bath Road and Route 1.
Brunswick Police responded at 12:14 p.m. to the tracks between Merrymeeting Plaza and Discount Tire on Bath Road, where a man reported finding the body near a small campsite, Deputy Chief Marc Hagan of the Brunswick Police Department said today.
Police found no identification, Hagan said, but believe the man was probably in his 40s.
The death does not appear suspicious at this time, Hagan said. The body was taken to the Maine Medical Examiner’s office.
With no current missing person cases, Hagan asked that anyone with information about anybody who was living near the tracks recently to call Brunswick Police at 725-5521.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
