Bath police took a 14-yearold Arrowsic girl to Sweetser for mental health evaluation Wednesday evening after finding her distraught on the Sagadahoc Bridge.

Two of the girl’s friends called police just after 6 p.m. Wednesday to report that she was upset and crying, and they were worried that she might jump off the bridge, Bath Police Lt. Stan Cielinski said today.

She told responding officers that she did not plan to jump, but they transported her to Sweetser for evaluation.
