BOOTHBAY — From noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens on Barters Island Road will host “Here Comes the Sun,” a free celebration of the “lengthening days,” according to a release from the gardens.
“Warm up by the fireplace in Kerr Hall; roast marshmallows on the terrace; and enjoy free s’mores, hot dogs, and hot and cold beverages,” the release states. “Support the Boothbay Region Food Pantry by bringing donations of food or a monetary gift. To kick off a year devoted to birds, bring suet or an orange for The Birds’ Tree.
Donald Duncan may be on hand to play the bagpipes. This event will be canceled if it’s raining or snowing or temperatures are below zero.
