Subaru dealers will be proud to show off the all-new Forester.
Subaru might have started out as a small manufacturer, but it now has an impressive array of vehicles to offer. Mostly known for its all-wheel drives, since last year it has been possible to buy a rear-wheel-drive sports car from Subaru. Indeed, the BRZ is a most interesting two-seater sports car (the two rear-seats are pretty much symbolic) that is powered by a typical flatfour Subaru engine. True to form, Subaru’s other products are all-wheel drives, including the smallish Impreza, offered as a sedan or hatchback. The same car is available in performance versions known as the WRX and the STI. Recently, a crossover version of the fastback Impreza was unveiled; it is the XV Crosstrak, which is available only with the CVT automatic transmission. Subaru’s bigger cars are the Legacy sedan and the Outback CUV. While the cars may share some similarities, the Legacy is a mid-sized sedan powered by a flat-four engine or a more spectacular flat-six. The Outback is a wagon that comes with the same engine and transmission options as the Legacy but that rides on a different, taller suspension than that of its sibling. If you are looking for a bigger vehicle, ask your Subaru dealer to show you the mighty Tribeca, a majestic SUV powered by the manufacturer’s flat-six. Lastly, Subaru has a brand-new Forester mini-SUV on offer. Completely redesigned, the small truck is still driven by the same flat-four engine it is known for, but it is now available with a six-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission.
