TOPSHAM — The Orion Performing Arts Center’s fundraiser, “Dining for a Cause,” will be held at the 99 Restaurant on Topsham Fair Mall Rd.
The 99 Restaurant will donate 15 percent of a patron’s bill to the Orion’s capital needs fund when presented with a voucher to either lunch or dinner. Vouchers are available at the Mt. Ararat Middle School or can be downloaded from orionperformingartscenter.org. Vouchers to support the Orion cannot be distributed at the restaurant.
The Orion Advisory Committee is raising money for an installed projector at the theater to improve the center’s stage and make it more attractive and useful for performances and community groups.
The committee is also holding a raffle, tickets for which are available at the event and at Orion shows, and are $1, or six for $5. Items include Red Sox player Brandon Workman autographed photo, tickets to Portland Sea Dogs game, basket of Red Claws items including an autographed basketball, tickets to Midcoast Symphony Orchestra, barbecue tools, 10 lobsters, and a Bed, Bath, and Beyond gift card. The raffle will continue until June 7.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
