The nonprofit Maine Technology Users Group (MTUG) invites IT professionals, managers and technology enthusiasts from all industries and sectors to the 31st annual Information Technology Summit and Tradeshow on Thursday, May 31, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Holiday Inn By The Bay in Portland.

The MTUG IT Summit is Maine’s largest business technology conference with 15 educational sessions, 59 vendor booths, and ample time to explore a broad range of IT topics, products and services.

Planned workshops

Workshop tracks include Cloud, IT Career Development, IT Infrastructure, Security, and “Tech Sandbox” (hands on technology demonstrations) on topics such as redesigning a campus-wide network, using DevOps in chaotic situations, Microsoft Azure migrations, cost effective security techniques, Maine’s neutral internet exchange, security threat hunting, IT certification programs, and more.

Keynote speaker Dr. Rafael Grossmann, trauma/general surgeon and health technology innovator, will present “Mixed Reality & Beyond: The Smart Use of Technology Without Limits!” Grossmann will explore current trends and the future of the smart application of Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Mixed Reality technologies in health care and education.

Admission is $45 “early bird” rate by May 16, $50 advance and $60 on the event day. Student rate is $25 with credential upload. Fee includes workshops, tradeshow floor access, continental breakfast, lunch, and exhibitor-sponsored prizes. MTUG is a nonprofit organization focused on bringing educational events and resources to the IT community.
