RICHMOND
Caitlin Kendrick had a home run and a triple to lead the Richmond High School softball team to a 9-5 East-West Conference victory over rival Buckfield on Tuesday.
The Bobcats, coming off their first home loss after a 74-game home win streak ended on Monday, bounced back to improve to 11- 1. Richmond hosts Valley on Friday at 2 p.m. for a doubleheader.
Tied 5- 5 in the sixth, Richmond scored four runs to pull away.
Sydney Underhill- Tilton had a triple for Richmond and also earned the win in the circle with six strikeouts. Bryanne Lancaster had two hits, while Bryannah Shea picked up three singles and three RBIs for the Bobcats.
Cara Merrill and Hannah Shields each had triples for Buckfield (8-4). Julia Dow picked up a pair of singles and two RBIs.
Dow and Merrill pitched, combining for six walks, eight hits and three strikeouts.

The undefeated Indians scored three runs in the third to take control in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Mt. Ararat.
The Eagles are 6- 8 heading into Friday’s home contest with Cony (4:15 p.m.), while Skowhegan improved to 13-0.
Zoe Stilphen and Jaden Lohr each singled in the loss as Skowhegan pitcher Ashley Alward dominated, striking out 18 Eagles and walking two.
Alward also starred at the plate, going 2 for 4 with a triple. Sydney Reed, Annie Cooke, Wylie Bedard and Julia Steeves each singled.

The Wolverines rallied from a big early deficit for a Mountain Valley Conference win over the Cougars at Dixfield.
Trailing 10-2 after four innings, Wiscasset (3-10) scored 11 runs in the fifth inning for a 13-10 lead.
Sydnie Thayer had two hits and four RBIs, part of the team’s five total hits in the victory.
Ashley Perrault of Dirigo (3-11) hit a single and a triple in the loss.
Boys lacrosse
TOPSHAM — Connor Brown scored five goals to lead Mt. Ararat (6-5) to a 10- 5 win over Messalonskee in KVAC play.
Mt. Ararat ended a five-game losing skid to improve to 6- 5. Mt. Ararat hosts rival Brunswick on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. to close out the regular season.
Jacob Sargent and Zach Caouette added two goals apiece, while Sean Roberts rounded out the scoring.
Alden Balboni had a hat trick for Messalonskee ( 5- 5), while Austin Pelletier and Colin Kinney had a goal apiece. Dawson Charles made five saves.
Baseball
DIXFIELD — Dirigo
scored 19 runs in the first inning and cruised to a 27- 2 MVC victory over Wiscasset.
Luke Leuders paced Dirigo ( 6- 8) with four hits, three RBIs and scored three runs. Cam Turner had a double and scored three runs. Seven Dirigo batters had multiple hits.
Wiscasset (0-14) was led by James Hodson, who picked up two singles.
The Wolverines are slated to host Boothbay on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
