BRUNSWICK (AP) — Ten Maine airports are receiving federal grants for improvements and safety enhancements.

The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded $5.1 million in grants to the Bethel Regional Airport, Northern Maine Regional Airport in Presque Isle, the Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport, Bangor International Airport and the Greenville Municipal Airport.

Also receiving grants are the Brunswick Executive Airport, the Northern Aroostook Regional Airport, the Dewitt Field-Old Town Municipal Airport, the Wiscasset Airport and the Pittsfield Municipal Airport.

The money will be used for runway improvements, terminal construction and expansion, pavement markings and an environmental impact study.
