CARSON, Calif. (AP) — Giovani dos Santos had a goal and an assist in an impressive MLS debut, leading the LA Galaxy to a 3-1 victory over the Seattle Sounders on Sunday.
Dos Santos set up captain Robbie Keane’s tiebreaking goal in the 47th minute before the Mexican playmaker scored his first goal in the 64th minute, taking a beautiful pass from Keane and burying his shot past Stefan Frei.
Red Bulls, 2-0
HARRISON, N.J. (AP) — Bradley Wright-Phillips and Felipe Martins scored and Luis Robles had three saves to help the New York Red Bulls complete a season sweep over expansion NYC FC.
Wright-Phillips put away a right-footer, off a cross from Kemar Lawrence, from the top of the 6-yard box in the 21st minute. Martins gave the Red Bulls (10-6-6) a 2-0 lead.
