DAMARISCOTTA — Award-winning author Jenifer LeClair will read from and discuss her new book, “Cold Coast,” on Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Maine Coast Book Shop.
Themes of isolation and the destructive power of secrets play hauntingly throughout this gripping thriller, the third in LeClair’s acclaimed “Windjammer Mystery Series.”
Homicide detective Brie Beaumont teams with the Maine State Police to investigate a grisly murder “away” Down East near the village of Tucker Harbor, Maine. A second death, a four-year-old mystery involving a research scientist and a mysterious, unexplained phenomenon, draw Brie into an ever-tightening web of intrigue and danger. LeClair vividly captures Maine’s islands and coastal regions where she has sailed aboard the historic Maine windjammers, traveled and done research since 1995.
Her debut novel, “Rigged for Murder,” won a 2009 Independent Publishers Award for Best Regional Fiction for the U.S. Northeast. “Rigged for Murder” also won the 2009 Rebecca’s Reads Award for Best Mystery/Thriller. “Danger Sector,” book 2 in the series, won a 2011 Independent
