Memoir of Annie Haskell available

BATH — Michigan author Helen Haskell Remien has written about growing up in Bath and about her mother, Annie

Perry Haskell (1918-2012), in a memoir titled “Ebb and Flow.” Any Haskell was a painter of the surrounding Maine coastal landscape. She loved the natural world, and for more than 50 years lived in Bath and then West Point where she gardened, watched the birds, and fished in the cove. She loved books, arts, classical music, and was an adventuresome cook. Signed copies of the fullcolor, 192–page tribute are available at Mustard Seed Bookstore, 74 Front St., Bath, and at Hidden Mountain

Gift Shop, 1659 Main Road, Phippsburg. To honor her mother, Remien has donated the proceeds from the sale of her book to the Bath Swedenborg Church. Annie Haskell had deep Swedenborgian roots and was active in the Bath Church of the New Jerusalem for over 50 years. Her maternal grandfather, Rev. John Whitehead, was a Swedenborgian theologian and translator, and her father, F. Gardiner Perry, was a national leader in the church.
