TURNER (AP) — Maine State Police are investigating the shooting death of an employee at the former DeCoster Egg Farms.
Steve McCausland of the Department of Public Safety says the worker was wounded Monday as another worker was shooting a .22-caliber rifle to kill rodents and stray chickens inside a chicken barn that was being cleaned.
McCausland said the victim, 57, died as he was being taken to a Lewiston hospital. The farm, now called Moark Egg Farm, is owned by Land O’Lakes Inc.
