PORTLAND (AP) — Jeanne Hulit has been tapped to serve as acting administrator of the Small Business Administration, replacing Karen Mills of Brunswick, who stepped down this summer, until President Barack Obama appoints a new administrator.

U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree says Hulit has played pivotal roles in supporting the state’s economic recovery while heading New England’s Regional SBA Office.
