BRUNSWICK — The Southern Midcoast Career- Center is offering programs for job seekers and those seeking to upgrade their skills to increase their employability.
“I encourage people to take advantage of the free assistance that the Brunswick CareerCenter provides job seekers,” said Gov. Paul LePage. “Career- Center staff can help you plan a new career or connect you with today’s job search tools.”
All businesses looking to hire — and people looking for work — should register with the Maine Job Bank. This month, the Job Bank has more than 7,000 job openings.
There is no cost to create a profile if you are a job seeker; or to list a job, if you are an employer.
The Southern Midcoast CareerCenter, 275 Bath Road, is open 8 a.m.to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Call 373-4000 or 1-(888) 836-3355, or visit www.mainecareercenter.com for more information.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
