ROCKLAND — The 2013-14 Metropolitan Opera’s “Live in HD” season of broadcasts from Lincoln Center will continue at The Strand Theatre, 345 Main St., on Saturday, Nov.9witha1p.m.screeningof the much-loved classic, “Tosca.”
An Encore broadcast takes place at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19.
Puccini’s timeless verismo score is well served by an exceptional cast, led by Patricia Racettein the title role of the jealous diva, opposite Roberto Alagna as her lover, Cavaradossi. George Gagnidze is the villainous Scarpia.
“Tosca” is a co-production of the Metropolitan Opera, the Bayerische Staatsoper and the Teatro alla Scala.
Tickets are $27 for adults, $15 for students. Encore tickets available day-of-show are $23 for adults, $5 for students.
