BATH

A strange fatal accident was reported in Bath shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday evening.

At 462 High Street, Corporal Jason Aucoin and Patrol Officer Shaun Cavanaugh responded to an emergency call for a report of a serious motor vehicle accident.

Two vehicles were in the dooryard of the house.  Both vehicles had sustained serious damage. Officers observed an adult male in the driver’s seat of one of the vehicles. He was the only occupant in either of the vehicles. It was quickly determined that the driver had been killed. The other car was not occupied.

Evidence at the scene indicated that the vehicle was traveling south on High Street and veered off the roadway near 468 High St. and continued up a small grade and collided with the parked car in the driveway of 462 High Street.

The crash is under investigation.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
