TOPSHAM — Paul and Shirley Lessard of Topsham will be observing their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 6.
Paul worked as chief of police for Topsham and with the Maine State Police, while Shirley’s occupation was with the civil service and as a mother. They are both retired.
Their 11 children include Paula Lessard of Cundy’s Harbor, Bonnie Lyons of Topsham, Gail Trask of Gardiner, Sheryl Howe of Winthrop, Bruce Howe of Florida, Lucile Weed of Brunswick, Susan Allen of Pownal, Arlene Arris of Freeport, Jean Lane of Durham, Cindy Lessard of Penobscot County and Paul Lessard of Freeport.
The couple has 70 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
