Bath – Sally M. Goulette Hersom, 72, of Bath, passed away on November 16, 2018 with friends and family by her side. She was born in Biddeford on Feb 19, 1946, the daughter of Arthur and Phyllis (McKenna) Goulette. Sally grew up in Brunswick, moving to Bath her junior year graduating from Morse High School, class of 1964.
Sally was married on November 14, 1964, to Frederick Hersom, her high school sweetheart. The couple just celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary, as Fred gave her roses and tears came down her checks. They raised 2 sons together, Rick and Joshua, something that Sally is very proud of. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her family.
Sally was a cosmetologist and owed her own salon for over 16 years, Sally’s Salon. She always took pride in her customers and treated them like family. She was also an avid crafter, owning her own craft store, Sally’s Craft’s. She gave many lessons to people of the community on basket weaving and folk-art painting. She also made & donated quilt’s, mittens, hats and anything that anyone needed to her community.
Sally loved to travel. She had the chance to live in Alaska, as her husband was a merchant captain there. She was hired to cook on the ship during the Exxon Valdez oil spill. She never stopped talking about it, it was a once in a lifetime adventure. She also taught crafts in the Kodiak community.
Sally was a member of the Bath Senior Citizens.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Frederick Hersom of Bath; her 2 sons, Frederick Jr. and his wife, Dolgormaa and their children, Unuzul and Altanzul of Saco, and Joshua and his wife Shalon and their children, Sloan and Grady, of Phippsburg; her brothers, Steven Goulette and Joseph Goulette; many nieces, nephews and friends that meant the world to her.
